Electronics, Embedded & PCB Design — From Concept to Manufacture
UK electronics consultancy for embedded firmware, Altium PCB design and product development.
UK electronics consultancy for embedded firmware, Altium PCB design and product development.
Tomsar Engineering Ltd is an electronics design consultancy based in West Yorkshire, working with commercial and industrial clients across the UK. We design the electronics and firmware behind real products — taking them from initial concept through to manufacture.
Our work spans embedded systems and both low-power and high-power electronic design. At the low-power end, that means battery-operated and energy-conscious products where efficiency and wireless connectivity determine success. At the high-power end, it means demanding applications such as battery-powered electrofusion welders, where thermal management, safety, and EMC engineering are critical. Across that range, we work fluently with the ESP32, STM32, and PIC microcontroller families.
Alongside embedded design, we provide professional PCB design and layout in Altium 365, covering RF, power, and mixed-signal boards — always built to be manufactured, with clean documentation a contract manufacturer can use without coming back with questions.
We support the full development path: feasibility and architecture, hardware and firmware design, prototyping, testing, Minimum Viable Product (MVP) development, and environmental and EMC testing for compliance. Our portfolio spans external rail lighting, stairlift controllers, motor control, assistive devices, commercial and industrial dispense systems, and high-power equipment.
Whether you have a fully specified design or just a product idea, Tomsar Engineering can help make it real. Get in touch to discuss your electronic product, PCB, or firmware requirements.
We provide full end-to-end electronic product design — from first idea to a manufacturable product.
Tomsar are members of Altium Service Bureau
Tomsar provides a dedicated PCB design and layout service using Altium 365, supporting clients from schematic through to manufacturing-ready output. The service suits a range of needs:
• You have a Bill of Materials (BOM) and schematic, and need the board laid out for production.
• You have an existing PCB layout that needs adapting to fit a new or existing enclosure.
• You have a physical PCB but have lost the original schematics, mechanical data, and Gerber files, and need them reproduced.
• You need a board designed from scratch in Altium Designer.
• You need guidance on layer stack-up, copper weights, board thickness, base laminate, impedance control, and crosstalk.
• You need a complete project package — schematics, PCB layout, BOM, pick-and-place, and full manufacturing data.
Every board we design is built to be manufactured: clean documentation, proper DFM consideration, and a complete output package your fabricator and assembler can use without coming back with questions. Whatever stage you're at, get in touch to discuss your PCB requirements.
